is held on Saturday 9th December from 10 to 12 noon at Garsington School with lots of crafts and fun things to make and do for Christmas. This is an event for all the family so please don’t leave your parents at home. We are hoping to build a homeless shelter from cardboard boxes, so if you have any cardboard you can donate, it would be gratefully received.
The Christingle Service
in aid of the Children’s Society takes place on Sunday 10th December at 11 am in St Giles’ Church followed by the Blessing of the Village Christmas Tree on the Green at 11.45 am.
Christmas Carol Singing on Horspath Green
(or in the church if weather bad) Thursday 14th December at 7 pm with music, mulled wine or soft drink, mince pies and biscuits. This is a Horspath Community Event organized by St Giles’ PCC and sponsored by the Parish Council. Donations go to Sobell House.
Christmas Special Family Time
on Sunday 17th December at 11 am in St Giles’ when the children from Horspath Nursery will be singing some Christmas songs and we will be searching for a baby. Do come along at 11 am for coffee and mince pies followed by a half hour act of worship for the children at 11.15 am.
This year we will be joined by not only the school choir but also Garsington village choir at St Mary’s carol service on 17th December at 6 pm followed by festive drinks afterwards. Earlier at 3 pm on 17th December St Giles’ hosts the Horspath Village Carol service with handbells and choir. Do come along. Collections go to Christian Aid.
Once again we will be constructing our crib at 4 pm on Christmas Eve in St Giles’ and All Saints. A family friendly time with carols and readings. For the first time Garsington has its own Crib Service at 5.30 pm on Christmas Eve.
